Mamdani

Hello Again, Friends:
Another follow-up from last night's meeting, at which I had referenced Mamdani.
Please THIS ARTICLE LINK. I'll make just two comments (for now, at least), the first of which has to do with the two passages that I quote from the article. Note that Mamdani's second quote tacitly (if not explicitly) undercuts the idea that Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state. Also pay attention to see if Mamdani, to be consistent with the idea that he expresses in this quote, thus fails to support any of the Muslim countries in the Middle East (or elsewhere).
Second comment: If you are wondering where Mamdani learned the phrase "settler-colonialist" (and its variations), look no further than a number of higher education humanities and social science departments (and affiliated organizations) across the country. Again, just a heads-up and a reminder of why we need to inoculate educators against otherwise biased, indoctrinating rhetoric.
Best,
Richard
>>He has also been asked if Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state. As he stated at a town hall in May with the UJA-Federation of New York, co-moderated by the New York Jewish Week’s Lisa Keys: It should exist “with equal rights for all.”
He later said on a local Fox channel’s morning show: “I’m not comfortable supporting any state that has a hierarchy of citizenship on the basis of religion or anything else.”<<
